Shenzhen - The 110-KV Lugang Transformer Substation of China Southern Power Grid, the first one located over a metro station, was recently placed into full operation which will assure a reliable power supply to the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base.
The Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, as one of the areas with the highest strategic importance in Shenzhen, has been designed as a model of a future city that integrates a global headquarters gathering place, a metropolitan cultural hub, an international exchange center and world-class coastal city center.
In Lugang Transformer Substation, two 63 MVA main transformers were put into operation, and 126,000 KVA main transformer capacity, two 110 lines and 48-loop 10 KV feeder lines were added, supplying necessary electric power to the soon-to-be-built Super Headquarters Base.
It is worth noting that, unlike traditional transformer substations, Lugang Transformer Substation is located over the Hongshuwan South Station of Metro Line 9 in Shenzhen, which has a high requirement for earthquake resistance and fire protection.
Senior managers from the Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd. have carried out in-depth cooperation and developed innovations in the juncture of the subway station and the transformer substation, fire protection and precautions against earthquakes.
These measures include setting a transition layer and rubber vibration isolation pads between the metro station and the transformer substation, filling foamed asbestos that is lightweight and fire-resistant, and adding an anti-seepage layer below the oil pit of the main transformers.
The operation of Lugang Transformer Substation will not only ensure the speedy construction and development of the area but provide a new idea for conserving precious land resources in Shenzhen.
